The Radiology directorate is in the Imaging Division which also includes Nuclear Medicine. The Division is in Surgery and Cancer Board which is led by the Medical Director. Radiology services are provided at 5 sites across the UCLH campus. We provide CT, MRI, X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology services. As a department, we are very supportive of role development currently we have radiographers reporting in Axial/Appendicular, Chest and Abdominal X-ray, Mammography, Upper GI and Urological Fluoroscopy and MRI. Radiographers are also inserting PICC lines, undertaking Barium Swallow lists and running the CT Colonography lists across the Service.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit radiographers with sophisticated communication skills and a patient-centred approach. You will need to have extensive general radiographic experience. You are required to hold demonstrable teaching abilities as you will be working with undergraduates & junior staff.
The successful candidates will gain experience in a wide range of General Radiography including essential participation in the Out of hours rota with rotation through other Trust satellite units including the Macmillan Cancer Centre, Westmoreland Street Hospital & the recently opened Grafton Way Hospital.
The department is keen to facilitate continual professional development whilst working in a supportive and progressive team. Radiographers will also participate in an established Trust Preceptorship programme.

Assess referrals or request forms, and justify under radiographic regulations and locally agreed protocols.
To prioritise patients to ensure optimum efficiency and service quality.
You will be providing a high-quality diagnostic service whilst maintaining a safe working Imaging environment.
You will be responsible for helping organise the patient workflow and liaising with a multi-disciplinary team.
You will assess the physical, mental and communication abilities and needs of individual patients and respond appropriately.
You will ensure adherence to IR(ME)R 2017 across the department.
