This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
A Personal Assistant is required to support a young man aged 32, in the Howden area, who is a wheelchair user with Cerebral Palsy.
The young man’s likes are eating out, socialising with friends, gaming, he is a DJ and loves to organise karaoke nights; your role will not include singing (unless you wanted to). He is looking for a Personal Assistant to help him lead an independent life.
The role would include help with household duties such as cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping. He will also need assistance with all aspects of personal care.
The young man has a fully adapted mobility car, so the Personal Assistant will need a valid driving licence; all insurance would be covered with the vehicle to be used for both shopping trips and outings.
The Personal Assistant role would include providing support for all of the above needs as well as being flexible with the hours worked each week. A rota would be produced each week to cover the young man’s appointments and responsibilities. The young man would require support on evenings and weekends for both social events and outings.
The rota does require that two of these shifts will be Thursday and Friday evenings, with an end time no later than 11pm.
Travel
Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required; applicants must be able to transport themselves.
