About Us
At Jigsaw, we’re on a mission to transform the way professional services and financial institutions work. We do this by helping our clients organise, visualise and use their data (think Figma or Canvas but for the ‘City’). Our clients include the world’s biggest consultancies, leading financial institutions and top law firms.
Jigsaw was founded by two seasoned entrepreneurs, Stephen and Travis. This is their second venture together; their first was acquired by a US private equity firm and went on to become a billion-dollar company and a household name in professional service firms across the world. Jigsaw is now on a growth trajectory few Series A companies achieve - putting us in the top quartile SaaS companies globally. Today we proudly serve thousands of users from nearly two hundred businesses worldwide, who love our products and use them everyday.
But we’re only getting started! We have ambitious goals and we’re looking for talented people to help us achieve them.
Why join us?
We're not about the corporate grind; instead, we thrive on creativity, enthusiasm, and a touch of humour to make magic happen.
We hire people with high ownership and a bias for action. Then we trust and empower them to do their best work.
The role
As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of our B2B SaaS startup. We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is proactive in driving improvements as the business scales, and has strong practical knowledge of international accounting and tax compliance. Your mission? To optimise financial processes, maintain ultra-high standards of accuracy and efficiency, and support strategic decision-making across our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and optimise the end-of-month accounting close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting is available to underpin all our strategic decisions.
2. Oversee statutory accounting and tax compliance for our fast-growing international entities, including the UK, US and Singapore.
3. Take ownership of critical global finance processes including payroll, accounts payable, R&D tax credits, invoicing and accounts receivable, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency.
4. Drive efficiency improvements by identifying, launching, and managing finance-related projects, particularly focusing on system automation and optimisation.
5. Work collaboratively with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve financial controls.
6. Supervise and mentor the Finance Associate and Bookkeeper by providing day-to-day guidance and professional development support. Prepare to grow and develop a global tax and accounting team as the business scales.
7. Stay ahead of regulatory changes, working with external partners to maintain compliance and assess the impact of accounting and tax updates on the business.
Who we’re looking for:
1. ACA or ACCA qualified with audit experience, ideally but not essentially from a Big 4 accounting firm.
2. At least 2 years post-qualification experience, with a strong preference that this is within a high growth or start-up environment.
3. Experience in managing international statutory accounting and tax compliance across international entities and involvement in a UK audit process.
4. Knowledge of a variety of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills. Comfortable with data analysis, tools and techniques.
5. Enthusiasm and curiosity to improve processes including use of software to automate, streamline and reduce risk.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
7. Experienced in managing and mentoring junior team members, fostering their growth and professional development.
8. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high attention to detail in a chaotic environment.
