REPORTING STRUCTURE REPORTS TO: Managing Director DIRECT REPORTS: N/A KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Franchise Network Business Development Managers Head Office Team PURPOSE OF THE ROLE As a Business Development Manager, you will act as the key link between Franchise Business Owners and Head Office - ensuring they operate their businesses effectively and in line with the business model and best practice. Your primary focus will be to drive the growth and development of both individual Franchisees and the wider Franchise Network. Working alongside a team of Business Development Managers, you will provide ongoing business support, guidance, and performance analysis to Franchise Business Owners. This includes evaluating sales processes, financial performance, and operational efficiencies, whilst staying up to date with industry trends, technology, and best practices within the industry. You will advise, motivate, and train Franchise Business Owners along with their teams to maximise business performance. You will monitor KPIs, generate insightful reports and ensure accurate and timely data is submitted to the wider business. As part of your portfolio, you will support a group of Franchisees through their training, launch, and ongoing business development, helping them establish and grow a thriving business within their local area. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Analysis and understanding of the Franchisee’s business with a focus on profit and margin. Developing a strategy to achieve business growth and increased profitability. Monitoring business plans to ensure that they are followed whilst looking to drive continuous improvement Achieving maximum profitability by working with their business to maximise efficiency. Setting, developing and monitoring sales, growth and customer service in accordance with the Business Model. Performance monitoring and supporting start up and development. Liaising and coordinating with the Franchisee, Head Office and suppliers Overseeing & assisting with setting up new Franchisee businesses Attending all required induction training. Liaising on the preparation of such things as stationery, uniforms, etc. Assisting with the recruitment of staff. Making arrangements for business vehicles, e.g. Vans Training and mentoring. Providing training and support on site and as required at Head Office. Supporting field training requirements. Working and setting business plans. Helping to prepare & accompanying Franchisees for appointments with prospective customers. Providing training on in-house systems to promote efficiency and productivity. Ensuring franchisees are working in accordance with company standards. Demonstrating in-depth understanding of the franchisee/franchisor dynamic. Sharing best practice and contributing to continuous improvement throughout the business. Proactively collaborating with and supporting other team members. Providing updated reports to Senior Management and highlighting any areas of concern. Positively promoting company policies and good practice. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE: Proven track record of Business Development, Sales or a related role with a focus on driving revenue growth Experience in the development and execution of Business Plans with a strong ability to analyse data and adjust as necessary Strong background in competitor analysis and identify business opportunities Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, negotiate and close deals Experience working in cross functional teams with areas including Marketing, Finance & Operations to deliver key objectives Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, target driven environment Understanding of CRM systems and data analytic tools track performance and opportunities P&L experience and understanding of finance metrics of running a business. Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages, specifically, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint. Right to work in the UK and full driving licence and satisfactory references required. Experience in the Drainage industry is beneficial. Experience in franchising beneficial. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE: Able to think strategically with strong commercial & business acumen Ability to negotiate and close deals with clients Proficient in analysing data to understand trends and customer needs Ability to build long lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and react promptly to potential problems.
