Job Overview
We have a great opportunity for a fixed term position for a ward clerk for 1 year with the potential to extend this for up to 2 years.
This would be for the Selby Inpatient Unit under the Family Health care group based in the Selby War Memorial Hospital working with patients with rehabilitative and palliative care needs.
The post holder provides all administration support for the ward.
Main Duties of the Job
Interested applicants must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and enjoy meeting and working with the public.
Basic computer skills are also a requirement for the job and NHS experience would be an advantage; however, full training will be given to the successful applicant on use of the hospital computer systems.
The successful applicants will be expected to cover all admin support for the ward.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
* Computer literacy skills to RSA 2, NVQ 2 or equivalent
* Experience of dealing with confidential information
* Experience (1 year minimum) Office/Administrative role
* Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
Skills
* Possess sound communication skills
* Ability to function effectively as part of a Team
* Able to organise and prioritise own workload
* Have the ability to exercise initiative
DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking.
