Business Manager – Engineering and Technology Consultancy
Location: Manchester or London | Hybrid Working

We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to lead a high-performing consultancy unit in the engineering and technology sector. This is a commercially focused role with responsibility for driving business growth, managing client relationships, overseeing project delivery, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
This role operates within a profit-centre model, offering autonomy to shape your own portfolio and contribute to broader strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and secure new consultancy opportunities within engineering and technology sectors
* Expand existing client accounts through solution-based selling and strategic relationship management
* Lead key accounts to ensure delivery excellence and long-term client satisfaction
* Oversee resource planning and ensure optimal talent deployment for projects
* Manage and develop a team of consultants, supporting career development and maintaining strong team engagement
* Contribute to long-term business strategy, including market positioning, service offering development, and operational planning
* Monitor performance metrics and implement improvement initiatives to drive growth and efficiency
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong track record in new business development and key account management in a consultancy or engineering environment
* Proven success in growing client portfolios and increasing revenue
* Experience in HR planning and team leadership, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams
* Excellent commercial acumen and decision-making capabilities
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
