Payroll Senior | Temp to Perm | Atherstone | Up to £19ph Are you an experienced payroll professional with a proven track record of leading payroll processes, managing external providers, and navigating periods of change? This is a pivotal role supporting the smooth delivery of payroll during a time of transition. Location: Warwickshire (Office Based) Pay: Up to £20 per hour Hours: Flexible start & finish (35 hours per week) Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity: You will play a lead role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for c.850 employees, working closely with an outsourced payroll provider while maintaining ownership of internal checks, reconciliations, and compliance. This role suits someone who thrives on responsibility, takes pride in getting the details right, and has experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead on payroll preparation and review, ensuring accuracy of data submitted to the external provider Perform detailed manual calculations and reconciliations to validate payroll outputs Monitor and improve SLAs with the outsourced payroll provider, escalating issues when necessary Maintain and update employee records across internal systems and ensure data integrity Upload contributions to pension portals and manage pension scheme administration Ensure accurate processing of statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions) Oversee benefit-in-kind reporting, including P11Ds and associated compliance Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries from staff and managers Provide monthly payroll journals, audit reports, and analysis for Finance and HR teams Contribute to process improvement initiatives, especially during the transition period Support broader HR/payroll admin where required About You: Strong experience in end-to-end payroll, ideally in a senior or standalone capacity Confident working with large payrolls (500 employees) and managing third-party providers Excellent Excel skills - confident using VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and handling large datasets Previous exposure to IRIS payroll systems is a strong advantage Good understanding of pensions, benefits, and statutory reporting including P11Ds Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle complex queries Must be able to work in-office 5 days a week and ideally live within 15 miles of Atherstone Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential Interested?
