Hours – Full time (Mon-Friday 35hours/week)
Salary - £21.98 - £22.00/hr (dep. on experience)
We are looking for a finance professional to offer temporary support to a small and perfectly formed, happy team during a busy period over year-end and beyond. Working within a large charity, you will be specifically working within the investment and grants side of the organisation.
Duties as the Finance Officer will primarily be as follows:
* Inputting payments on the online banking system, and liaising with signatories for authorisation
* Inputting transactions into the Sage accounting system, ensuring all payments/receipts are recorded and reconciled
* Update the grants database to record payments made
* Monitoring the incoming finance team emails
* Posting accounting journals
* Downloading monthly credit statements and circulating for authorisation
* Supporting the Finance Officer and Head of Finance & Investment in the preparation of accounting schedules and reports, particularly during the year-end accounts’ preparation.
* Maintaining finance team’s filing (electronic + paper)
The successful Finance Officer person must have experience of coding and working in a finance team. You will be adept at processing payments and maintaining financial records in an accounting system, and, have the ability to use Excel confidently.
Attention to detail and input accuracy are important for this role as there is a lot of data entry involved every week so you must enjoy that side of the work. The Finance Officer we need in this role needs to be resilient, have a mature attitude to work and the ability to adapt to different personalities and deadlines.
