We are supporting a highly successful, award-winning firm in their search for an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper to join their team. This role provides the opportunity to work with an exciting and varied client base while contributing to the financial health and success of businesses through accurate bookkeeping and financial management.
The Role
Based primarily in the Brighton office, this position involves maintaining accurate financial records and assisting clients in managing their finances effectively. The role is suited to individuals with strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
Assisting with the preparation of tax returns, VAT, and management accounts.
Handling general financial administration on behalf of clients.
Enhancing processes and procedures to align with evolving business needs.
Introducing and implementing cloud accounting tools.
Learning and adopting new software solutions as they become available.
Collaborating within the bookkeeping and management team.
Visiting clients at their premises as needed.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
Produces high-quality work within deadlines.
Demonstrates knowledge of VAT, Self-Assessment, and Corporate Tax.
Familiarity with cloud tools, such as Receipt Bank (or similar).
Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
Confident in engaging with clients face-to-face.
Flexible regarding working locations and schedules.
Professional and reliable in their approach.
Working knowledge of Xero is advantageous.
