What skills and experience we're looking for
The governors and headteacher are looking to appoint a strong and
committed full-time or part-time HLTA to work predominantly across
KS2 classes based on the strengths and experience of the candidate.
We will consider part time requests (full days).
We need someone who will:
Meet higher level teaching assistant standards or equivalent
qualification or have comparable relevant experience;
Have excellent maths/English skills in order to be able to teach
from FS to Year 6;
Support in classes and lead whole class groups as
required. This will mostly be KS2 but could also include
occasional FS and KS1 cover;
Have the ability to build excellent nurturing relationships with
children;
Work within an agreed framework of supervision to complement
the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for
agreed learning activities, including preparation, delivery and
assessment;
Be well motivated and committed to providing a stimulating,
happy and caring learning environment where all learners are
valued as unique individuals;
Have excellent knowledge of the curriculum for the phase in
which they work coupled with the ability to secure successful
learning for all children with a wide range of learning needs;
Be committed to raising standards and developing the best
education for all pupils;
Offer a special blend of determination, innovative thinking,
creative problem solving, resilience and humour.
Be passionate about children’s learning, progress and well-
being;
Be experienced in working with children supporting both
individuals and groups of learners in addition to providing high
quality support;
Be committed to achieving high standards of learning and
behaviour for all;
