An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervising Social Worker in the BCP/Dorset area to join Five Rivers Child Care. We are a leading Social Enterprise supporting children and young people with a range of services, which includes foster homes located across England. By joining us, you will be part of a team wholly committed to our mission of ‘Turning children’s lives around’ to help children and young people who have experienced adversity to achieve their full potential. The successful applicant will be working for the South and South-East Service, which has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (January 2022). We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker who can work on their own initiative alongside the Service Manager and Team Manager supporting Foster Carers whilst also helping with the planning and delivery of recruitment events. The role offers a hybrid way of working with work undertaken both at our central office located in Salisbury and at home, as well as attending face to face meetings. Five Rivers works from a Trauma Informed (ATIC) Model with integration across our fostering, residential, clinical and education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people. The role will involve working with the services Clinician and Therapeutic Senior Practitioner to ensure support services are tailored to the individual needs of the children, young people, and Foster Carers we look after. This also includes Reflective Practice Sessions provided to the Social Work Team, so they are supported and equipped to deliver these services. The post holder will need to be creative, flexible, and willing to travel. Ideally you will have experience of working within the Fostering Sector, either with an IFA or in the Local Authority. Having the necessary skills and knowledge to enable the completion of Initial Home Visits through to Form F Assessment and presentation at an Independent Panel will be required. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the drive and ambition to provide more high-quality foster placements for children in the area where we know that there is a shortfall of foster families for children who need their care. If you would like to know more about this position or have an informal discussion, please contact Kate Ennis Service Manager or Rachel Rose Team Manager for the South and Southeast Service on 01722 421142.
