Do you have some experience in costume maintenance and/or wardrobe support in a theatre environment? Do you work well within a busy team? Are you reliable?
We are looking for a Wardrobe Technician (Grade 3) to work as part of the Running Wardrobe Team in all aspects of Running Wardrobe including laundry and performance calls.
Reporting to the Head of Running Wardrobe, key areas of responsibility include:
* Ensuring that costume requirements and dressing needs are met efficiently and flexibly.
* Assisting actors with their costumes in technical rehearsals and performances.
* Performing all pre-show costume and laundry checks, ensuring that costumes are correctly set in dressing rooms and quick-change areas.
* Ensuring that the Running Wardrobe rooms and all costumes in dressing rooms are kept in a clean and tidy manner.
To be suitable for this role, it is preferred that you have the following knowledge and experience:
* Basic experience in dressing and managing theatre costume needs for a range of artists.
* A basic understanding of Costume Maintenance and Costume-related disciplines.
* Organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
This role is a full-time position working 48 hours, 6 out of 7 days. It is offered as a fixed-term contract for 1 year and will be based in Stratford-Upon-Avon. This position is available at both the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Swan Theatre.
