The Assistant General Manager is a key leadership/management role within the cluster management structure and provides both operational and strategic support to the General Manager.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will have delegated responsibility from the General Manager for managing the day-to-day operations of the services, working closely with the Clinical Director, Clinical Leads, Service Managers, and Matrons.
Working with the support of the General Manager, the post holder will ensure that effective and efficient structures are in place to ensure that all standards of patient care are met and associated risk and governance matters are managed.
The post holder will support the General Manager in developing efficient and effective patient-centered services, meeting key financial and operational performance targets, and putting in place effective processes for delivering national/local targets, reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of services in terms of cost-effectiveness and financial flows.
The post holder will deputise for the General Manager and will be on the on-call rota for the Trust.

Person Specification
Experience
* Broad range of management experience to include the management of a large multi-disciplinary group of staff, part of which to have been in the NHS.
* A proven record of success in managing significant operational/strategic change whilst also developing and maintaining the provision of a high quality service, within a clinical setting, with multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrable ability to lead and influence.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at all levels; and deliver complex content.
Qualifications
* Recognised post-graduate management qualification or equivalent experience.
