Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) Location: Market Deeping (with some home/flexible working available) Working Hours: Approximately 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday Job Description A well-established building services consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team based in Market Deeping. This role involves delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions for a range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and large-scale residential developments. The position requires an individual with strong technical skills, particularly in Hevacomp, along with experience in other programs such as AutoCAD and Revit an advantage. Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Design & Analysis: Lead mechanical design work for various building services projects, including load calculations, power distribution, and lighting systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Technical Proficiency: Utilize Hevacomp as the primary design tool, with additional work in other programs as required for project documentation and coordination. Project Oversight: Manage mechanical design processes from initial concept through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to ensure smooth project delivery. Client Liaison: Engage with clients to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver project updates. Quality Control: Review and validate designs, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and project specifications. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping to develop team skills and ensure project continuity. Requirements: Experience: Significant experience as an Mechanical Design Engineer in building services, with a track record of delivering high-quality designs for commercial, industrial, and large residential projects. Technical Skills: Amtech: Proficiency in Hevacomp for mechanical system design is essential. AutoCAD & Revit: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is highly beneficial. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building regulations, mechanical codes, and relevant standards. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and project teams. Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to a mix of office and remote working environments.
