Join Our Team as a Utility Services Technician at Ringway Jacobs!
Ringway Jacobs is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Utility Services Technician to become part of our Construction Team in Cheshire.
In this role, you will work closely with the Construction Team Leader, playing a key part in the planning and execution of high-quality underground service location processes. Your work will be essential in ensuring all operations align with CEH health and safety policies, maintaining the highest standards across CEH and SCP projects.
The Role
1. Providing support to all teams in the location of and avoidance of underground services.
2. Survey and produce simple drawings showing the locations of services for use by the operational teams.
3. Provide advice to operational teams following surveys, in the safe methods to be utilised for excavations.
4. To assist operatives in the tracing of utility plant.
5. To train operatives in the effective use of cable detection equipment & techniques and in the understanding of public utility plans and drawings.
Minimum Requirements
1. A current, valid driving licence is essential.
2. Utility Services experience detecting underground services desirable.
3. New Roads and Street works or NHSS 12 training and qualifications would be highly beneficial.
4. Experience in the use of handheld technology (PDAs, Smartphones, etc) would be advantageous but not essential. Local knowledge of the county would be beneficial.
