This role will be responsible for supporting an extremely busy Finance function as they navigate a period of positive transition whilst providing an effective and timely accounting service to the business and its financial stakeholders, including supporting the financial audit.
Working in the management accounts team and using your extensive experience of best practice in other large organisations, you will apply financial analysis and controls to fixed assets and capital expenditure, ensuring accounting standards are adhered to.
You may also play a key role in our transition to a new Finance ERP, whilst supporting the business as it begins to embark on a sizable increase in capital delivery through the next 5-year regulatory period.

What will you be accountable for?
* Support the production of an accurate statutory Fixed Asset Note at half year and year end, analysing the supporting files for correct classification, treatment and completeness.
* Ensuring compliance with appropriate company capitalisation policies and accounting standards.
* Oversee and coordinate all PWC audit requests, including the review of audit file submissions for accuracy, relevance and completeness and the preparation of specific audit requests.
* Backfill other tasks as requested to facilitate ERP system transition preparation, supporting any other managers as requested.
* Prepare and/or review of some key quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Fixed Asset WIP control, including review of project closure dates, asset componentisation and useful lives.
What do you bring to the role?
* Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or exceptionally part-qualified and qualified by experience.
* Strong financial, numeracy and excel skills including accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to operate complex financial systems.
* Communicating (written and verbal) financial information and concepts, clearly and concisely to a range of financial and non-financial stakeholders.
* Proficiency in accurately accounting for fixed assets.
* Sound understanding and knowledge of IAS16 and IAS38.
* Understanding financial performance in the context of business' requirements.
