Geography Teacher – Permanent Role in Leeds (LS6)
A well-regarded secondary school in Leeds is looking for a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join their humanities department on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is eager to inspire students to develop a deep understanding of the world around them, from physical landscapes to human geography.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach A-Level for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that foster curiosity and analytical skills
* Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for A-Level teaching
* Use a variety of teaching methods, including fieldwork and digital mapping tools, to enhance student learning
* Track and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed
* Encourage a passion for geography, sustainability, and global awareness
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement
* Collaborate with colleagues in the humanities department to develop engaging resources
* Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as geography clubs or field trips
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4 (A-Level experience is desirable but not essential)
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for geographical education
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
* Commitment to professional development and innovative teaching practices
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to whole-school initiatives
