The Role:
Working in a fast-paced project environment this role will be responsible for ensuring optimum material availability for Heavy Maintenance projects using relevant tools with full utilisation of the MRP/ERP system.
What You’ll Do:
1. Ensure a purchase order requisition is provided for each material purchase and that the correct verification and authorisation, in line with current DFA, has been provided.
2. Place required material orders in a timely fashion and in line with purchasing procedure through SAP.
3. Track material purchases using BOM Trackers and ensure the trackers are maintained daily.
4. Ensure forward planning needs are monitored and orders placed in line with relevant lead times.
5. Manage key and risk items and liaise with the relevant Project Engineer to ensure materials risks are flagged in a timely manner.
6. Complete Repair/Return schedules on a unit by unit basis, notifying stores & suppliers of intended delivery & collection dates and monitor the movements.
7. Close out each unit departure in full following the close out procedure within the defined KPI.
8. Use trend information to adjust min/max levels as required in accordance with procedure to ensure optimum levels of stock held.
9. Monitor expected usage against actual on a unit by unit basis, where there are discrepancies undertake an investigation ensure stock is adjusted at the time of discovery.
10. Monitor the daily stock order reports and place required orders daily.
11. Liaise with the Materials Team Leader and Stores team reference non-conformance item re-order rate.
What You Bring:
Experience – minimum two years in supply chain/materials management, demonstrable experience in maintaining a detailed bill of materials.
Knowledge – purchase order management, proven background in supplier liaison / supplier performance, inventory control techniques, UK Rail industry knowledge, SAP user, excellent understanding of working to standards and procedures.
