Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive kinship care assessments in line with statutory guidance, policies, and procedures.
Work in partnership with children, families, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children requiring kinship care.
Complete detailed and analytical viability and full kinship assessments, presenting findings at panel meetings.
Provide ongoing support, supervision, and training to approved kinship carers.
Work collaboratively with other social work teams, legal services, and external agencies.
Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings and attend court when necessary.
Participate in case discussions, safeguarding meetings, and care planning processes.
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
Requirements:
Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification).
Registered with Social Work England (or relevant UK social work regulatory body).
Significant post-qualification experience in children's social care, particularly in kinship, fostering, or similar assessment roles.
Strong knowledge of child protection procedures, fostering regulations, and the legal framework surrounding kinship care.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle (if required for the role).
