The role consists of 2-day shifts (7am to 7pm), 2-night shifts (7pm to 7am), and 4 days off. This cycle repeats 7 times, followed by 18 consecutive days off.,
* Monitoring of conditions associated with the Bio Energy aqueous treatment plant, biomass fuel processing plant, fluidised bed biomass boiler, steam turbine, generator set and the existing package boiler plant and associated water treatment plant to ensure optimum efficiency and reliability are achieved.
* Working in line with operating procedures to ensure all hazards/risks are managed and familiar with hazard/incident reporting processes
* Maintain and support a proactive safety culture within Operations/ Engineering environment. Ensuing a safe working environment is maintained at all times complying with company safety procedures and legislation. Be involved in safety improvement activity.
* Work in any area within his/her competence under the direction of the Shift Lead Technician/ Business Leader/ Process Manager. Carry out hygiene routines, walkrounds, inspections, sampling and general duties to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the whole plant.
* Take delivery of bulk chemicals and check chemical usage. Carry out stock checks and liaise with management team to ensure sufficient chemicals are on site for production.
* Carry out general and deep cleaning duties using high pressure washers and industrial vacuum units across the whole site to maintain and improve levels of aesthetics and housekeeping in and around all areas of the plant, equipment and buildings. Ensure the plant remains clean and free from spillages of process liquids, biomass or ash.
* Holding a full UK driving license and after site based competency training use: forklift truck, Manitou telehandler, MEWP and Terberg shunter unit. Operate plant vehicles as required to assist maintenance and operations.
* To provide absence and holiday cover within the mixed-shift system as part of the flexible team approach.
* Carry out confined space entry and lifting / slinging duties
