We provide ground investigation and geo-environmental consultancy services for a broad range of private and public sector clients in the development, health, education, defence, and infrastructure sectors. Your main duties and responsibilities will be to assist with the design, procurement, supervision, management, and reporting of geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments and site investigation. This will include the production of desk study assessments, the accurate collection of site data, and the production of detailed factual and interpretative reports as well as undertaking ground gas and groundwater monitoring works.
You will become a member of a busy team delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care, and effective project management. You will be working alongside other land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater, and geo-technical specialists to deliver holistic solutions to clients’ needs in these areas. Additionally, you will collaborate with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in the planning, environment, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the design, procurement, supervision, management, and reporting of geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments and site investigations.
* Produce desk study assessments and detailed factual and interpretative reports.
* Conduct ground gas and groundwater monitoring works.
* Collaborate with specialists across various teams to deliver solutions.
About You:
You will hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, or a relevant environmental science discipline. While not essential, it would be beneficial to have a postgraduate qualification such as a Master’s degree. You should also be working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as CIWEM, IEMA, or Geo Soc.
* You must have experience of ground investigation and the skills and knowledge to interpret ground investigation data and assess land contamination.
* You must be able to produce Phase 1 geo-environmental desktop study reports incorporating Preliminary Risk Assessments, Phase 2 factual reports, and contribute to interpretative reporting.
* You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fully IT literate as you will be required to write clear, concise, and technically robust reports.
* You must have a good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management as applied to ground investigation.
* You must have a full, preferably clean, driving license.
* You will be a team player with strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills.
