Key Responsibilities
Key in this role is the requirement to:
1. Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times
2. Work in a responsible and safe manner as a key member of the team
3. Support the development and implementation of the Environmental Management System to comply with legal environmental requirements and company standards
4. Support the management of site environmental permits
5. Support communications with regulatory authorities and key external stakeholders
6. Ensure the site is being maintained to all appropriate legal environmental and planning requirements
7. Support the internal audit process, report key findings and drive remedial actions
8. Support relevant environmental sampling and test work programs to a high and consistent standard
9. Support environmental programs/schemes and manage project outcomes
10. Develop processes and procedures to deliver the objective of the Environmental Management System
11. Support applications for future environmental permits and permissions
12. Manage the investigation and reporting of environmental incidents
13. Analyse and interpret environmental data and provide written reports as required
14. Liaise with the broader team and other relevant departments as required
15. Develop and manage a dedicated database of relevant environmental performance data
16. Assist the team with other relevant work as required
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking candidates eligible to work in the UK, with a relevant degree or qualifications and a UK (or equivalent) car driving licence. The successful candidate will:
* Be happy working in a dynamic, hardworking environment and integrating with and assisting the broader project team
* Be computer literate and physically fit
* Be happy to work outdoors in all weather
* Have an awareness of environmental legislation
* Have previous experience of implementing an ISO14001 Environmental Management System and working in heavy industry (highly desirable)
