NHS Lothian is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.
To this end, NHS Lothian welcomes applications from all sections of society.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise, and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Hospital for Children and Young People.
This is a permanent post and the successful applicant will join the current team to provide paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition (PGHAN) care for patients in Lothian, and support specialist PGHAN provision to outreach services in NHS Fife and Borders. This appointment will support a consultant of the week (CoW) model providing a comprehensive out of hours consultant rota, joining the team to work with the current staff to support clinical care. It is envisaged that the new post holder will contribute equally to the PGHAN service with the substantive, locum, and clinical academic consultants. Sub-specialist and outreach clinics are currently supported by all consultants, and the new post holder will have an opportunity to link with the existing team in providing and developing these services.
