Payroll Manager - Warrington Role Title: Payroll Manager Responsible for: Payroll Officer & Payroll Administrator Reporting to: Group Financial Controller Location: Warrington (Support Centre) Purpose of the Role: The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading an efficient payroll department. This is achieved through overseeing the accurate processing of wages, ensuring timely payment, administering various employee benefits and maintaining compliance with all relevant tax and employment laws. Key performance measures Processing payroll: Ensure that employee salaries, benefits, and deductions are processed accurately and on time Maintaining records: Keep employee records and ensure financial confidentiality Generating reports: Create and share reports on payroll activity, especially for new hires and terminations Complying with regulations: Ensure that payroll practices comply with relevant laws and regulations, such as working hours and minimum wage Managing staff: Lead and develop a team of payroll assistants Resolving errors: Resolve payroll errors Monitoring changes: Monitor promotions, transfers, and terminations. Completing all payroll journal entries at the end of each payroll period. Key Accountabilities: Manage and mentor a small team of experienced payroll professionals Ensure that all HMRC submissions are made, payroll reconciliations carried out and all legislative timescales are adhered to Leading on all payroll related projects Processing accurately the pension(s) to our external partners Developing and refining payroll procedures Working collaboratively with the finance and People & Development team Providing support and advice to the Hotel General Managers manage cost efficiencies Personal specification Previous experience of managing or supervising a payroll team Excellent current, technical payroll knowledge Ability to mentor and develop a team Experience of processing payroll via our Fourth payroll solution for circa 4,500 employees Excellent systems and numerical skills A technically strong payroll professional who can lead by example and impart their in-depth payroll knowledge to the team Hands on with our Senior Teams to manage payroll processing Excellent written and verbal communication, including active listening and report writing Payroll Management qualification (desirable) Work, Grow, Play Here at Village Hotel Club we are all about embracing personality, individualism and fun.
