Electrical Engineer - ELV (Extra Low Voltage) – Contract Role Location: Shotton Mill, Weightbridge Road, Deeside Contract Duration: 7 Months (Until December 2025) Job Type: Contract Working Hours: 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break) Job Overview A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – ELV to oversee the installation, subcontractor management, and quality assurance of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. This role requires ensuring all ELV installations comply with UK (England and Wales) standards and project specifications. Key Responsibilities ✔ Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems, including: Fire Alarm Systems Security & CCTV Systems Access Control Systems Public Address & Voice Alarm Systems Data & Communication Networks Building Management Systems (BMS) ✔ Review ELV design documentation for compliance with project specifications. ✔ Manage subcontractors to ensure timely and quality installations. ✔ Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks. ✔ Ensure all ELV work meets UK electrical codes, safety regulations, and standards. ✔ Collaborate with MEP and project teams to integrate ELV systems with other services. ✔ Troubleshoot ELV issues and provide technical support during installation and commissioning. ✔ Maintain progress reports, QA/QC documentation, and project records. Requirements ✅ Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communications Engineering (or related field). ✅ Proven experience in ELV system installation, commissioning, and quality management for large-scale MEP projects. ✅ Expertise in ELV systems and their integration into building projects. ✅ Strong understanding of UK electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations. ✅ Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring QA/QC compliance. ✅ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. ✅ Excellent communication and coordination abilities. ✅ Ability to oversee multiple aspects of ELV system implementation independently. ✅ Must have a valid UK work permit.
