Job Description:
Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, enthusiastic experienced Band or Band Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in respiratory care, to join the rotation as part of our cardio-respiratory team.
The rotation programme offers a broad range of experience both in acute and chronic care settings where you will work alongside highly respected and experienced clinicians at both the John Radcliffe Hospital and Churchill Hospital.
There are currently rotations on the programme, including:
* Critical Care Services
* Adult Critical Care
* Acute Respiratory Services
* Respiratory Medicine
* Surgery & Rehabilitation
* Cancer Surgery
* Vascular Surgery
* Long Term Respiratory Conditions
* Sleep & Ventilation
Rotations are grouped into specialty areas to ensure that staff have the opportunity to experience all parts of the programme. Staff can make preference requests within each group, and each rotation lasts several months.
You will be actively encouraged to participate in CPD, improvement projects, and to provide supervision and teaching to junior staff, students, and the wider MDT. You will be supported by an experienced team of lead physiotherapists to refine your respiratory and leadership skills in various specialist areas.
Main duties of the job
To work across services within the rotation to provide high-quality, safe, and effective physiotherapy services to patients as part of a cohesive multi-professional team.
To work collaboratively with patients and their carers to assess, goal plan, and treat patients following admission to hospital, aiming to maximize their independence and quality of life.
To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists, support workers, and physiotherapy students.
To actively participate in quality improvement, clinical audit, and research projects.
To take part in extended hours, seven-day, and weekend working as required by individual teams to maximize access and delivery of respiratory physiotherapy care.
To participate actively in the overnight respiratory on-call service.
