Job Description Share Share Share Teaching Assistant Location: Ripon, North Yorkshire Salary: £83 - £100 per day Start Date: November 2024 Contract Type: 0.8FTE, Monday to Thursday GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our client Primary School in Ripon, North Yorkshire, starting in November 2024. We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will be working on 1:1 and small group basis with SEN students across Key Stages 1 and 2. SEN Teaching Assistants Responsibilities Work with SEN students across different classes in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Work with the class teachers to support delivery lessons and manage classroom behaviour. Support children with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or sensory impairments. Responsibilities will include helping prepare learning materials, run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and supervision. Provide help with mobility, feeding, personal hygiene, and other daily tasks. Implement adaptations and accommodations outlined in the child’s Individualised Education Program (IEP) or EHC plan. Collaboration with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and/or physiotherapists. Providing additional support to the teacher in the classroom. SEN Teaching Assistants Requirements Must hold the Right to Work in the UK. Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support. Training in behavior management and de-escalation techniques is desirable. Be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and a hands-on approach. Should have good knowledge about different additional needs and working with students with SEN on a 1:1 basis. Have excellent teamwork, classroom and communication skills. Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
