Residential Children's Home Deputy Manager
We are looking for a Deputy Manager for our 3 bed EBD children's home in Oldbury, West Midlands. Our aim is to offer long-term residential care to children and young people aged 7-17 years old.
The role of the Deputy Manager is to lead, be a role model, and support a team of staff and the children they care for using a therapeutic approach.
You will work under the guidance of the Registered Manager and supervise a team of Residential and Senior Residential Support Workers to provide a good standard and quality childcare to our children and young people.
You must be able to lead, motivate, and enhance the skills of your team while modeling professionalism and strong leadership skills. The children and young people can display complex social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties and associated challenging behaviors, needing guidance to grow, blossom, thrive, develop their independence skills, and integrate positively into society.
As the Deputy Manager, you will have full autonomy of the children's home whereby you will influence and lead on all areas of care the children receive. You will be thoroughly supported by the management team, and we would like a Deputy Manager who is strong-willed and can bring fresh, great ideas.
Purpose of the Post:
To support the manager in the daily management of the home, including the staff, the budget, the resources and fabric of the building, and the welfare of the children and young people, with the objective of achieving the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 including the Quality Standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the children's home.
2. Developing and implementing care plans for children in accordance with regulatory standards.
3. Recruiting, supervising, and training staff members to ensure quality care is provided.
4. Creating a safe and nurturing environment for children.
5. Collaborating with parents, guardians, and other healthcare professionals to address the individual needs of each child.
6. Maintaining accurate records and documentation of children's health and progress.
7. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in childcare.
Deputy Manager Essential Criteria:
* Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People in a residential setting (or equivalent qualification) or above.
* Must have experience of working in a children's residential home.
* Full UK Driving License.
