Job Description As part of Sky’s Group Risk Office (GRO), the Strategic Intelligence function plays a crucial role in understanding the evolving external environment and assessing its impact on our strategy, operations, people, and reputation. This role offers the opportunity to lead a relatively new but essential function, providing critical insights to inform business decisions and resilience planning. As the Head of Strategic Intelligence (maternity cover), you will identify and monitor emerging threats that could affect Sky’s risk profile and resilience in the mid- to long-term, analysing changes across environmental, technological, sociological, geopolitical, economic, and legal dimensions and connecting them to potential impacts on our global operations. Working with a combination of inhouse and third-party analysts, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of compelling intelligence products assessing world events and clearly communicating the ‘so what?’ for Sky, helping business stakeholders make sense of, and respond to, the changing environment. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Risk and Organisational Resilience teams to enhance the overall GRO offering, ensuring that Sky remains informed, prepared, and resilient in the face of immediate shocks or long-term challenges. Key Responsibilities Effectively use inhouse capability and third-party suppliers to assist you in the delivery of a suite of high-quality, timely and actionable intelligence products, making credible connections between global threats and the negative impacts or opportunities presented to Sky in the longer term Advise on the strategic implications of these threats, both proactively and reactively, enabling informed decision-making by business leaders Work with Risk to ensure continued enhancement of our horizon scanning capability, taking newly identified business risks and drivers, and make connections between, and continually monitor, the external factors that could impact the likelihood, impact and velocity of risk materialisation Support Resilience initiatives by contributing to wargaming and scenario exercises Develop and present the ‘Strategic Intelligence Outlook’, our annual assessment of key threats, to various teams across the business Collaborate with Risk and Resilience teams to advance the GRO's combined offering, including dashboards, reports, and toolkits What You’ll Bring Proven experience in strategic intelligence within a corporate setting Expertise in long-term forecasting and scenario planning Advanced research, intelligence gathering, and analytical skills, with the ability to link external events to potential business impacts Experience beyond geopolitical and conflict assessments Strong industry connections and participation in global, regional, and local intelligence networks The ability to set out complex topics and logical arguments clearly and accessibly, adapting language, form, and message to engage different audiences, simply and clearly articulating the 'so what' for Sky to enable decision making and action Confidence in presenting to stakeholders at all levels A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a drive to innovate and adapt Ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-on delivery Strong collaboration skills, contributing to the broader development of the GRO
