Description The UK GL Accountant role is key to delivering accurate and timely financial records, ensures fiduciary commitments are maintained and tracks key budgets. Reporting to the UK Senior Accountant the role supports all legal entity accounting, payments, banking activities and supports ad-hoc projects. This role supports the implementation of new ideas to simplify and improve processes across the organization. Responsibilities Accounting Prepare, calculate and submit for approval, accruals and prepayments in line with corporate Policy requirements for UK Segment and UK Legal Entity. Support and coordinate the monthly close process under UK Gaap with accurate and compliant journal postings. Provide GL accounting guidance to the operations to ensure operations are accounted for properly and consistently. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation using Blackline (reconciliation tool) with clear action steps and follow through to close open items following corporate deadlines. Perform cost center/profit center analysis & intercompany reconciliations, to issue accurate intercompany invoices Assist in the preparation of the monthly accounting calendar by contributing to the monthly close preparation and review meetings. Support and Back-up the Senior Accountant in times of absence Suggest/implement new ideas to simplify the monthly closing by reviewing the journals and adding BI if applicable. Support daily cash management by clearing cash concentration accounts and ensuring efficient cash flow management. Prepare manual payment in Banking system if required Assist in preparation and management of company’s travel & expenses (T&E) budget. Assist in system enhancements and continuous process improvement efforts. Ad hoc further accounting tasks and reporting as necessary Stewardship/Controls Support the collating, filing, and archiving of all the company’s supporting documentation (electronic and physical form). Qualifications Professional Requirements 3-4 years of experience in financial accounting roles in a sales and distribution organization. Part qualified ACCA with Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting. Working experience with SAP and advanced excel skills are a must. Self-motivated team player, with exceptional organization skills and attention to detail. Deadline oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to go the extra mile during times of heavy workload (e.g. month close & budget). Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
