About the job
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support our finance department. As a Finance Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance department's day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for various financial tasks and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
To be successful, you should have strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, good organizational skills, and working knowledge of accounting software.
Your tasks
1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
* Process supplier invoices
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
* Prepare and issue invoices to customers and follow up on outstanding payments
* Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions
1. Bank Reconciliation:
* Perform monthly bank reconciliations
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank records and company accounts
2. General Ledger Maintenance:
* Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts
* Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified
3. Financial Reporting:
* Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Provide support during audits
Requirements
1. AAT Level 3 or equivalent
2. SAP B1 system knowledge is essential but not desirable
3. Excellent Customer Service
4. Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
5. Analytical skills and attention to detail
6. Familiarity with data entry software and MS Office package
7. Ability to reconcile complex accounts
8. Problem-solving skills
9. Ability to work well in a team
