The anaesthetic department is highly regarded in the region as a centre of excellence for anaestheticeducational initiatives, with our friendly reputation for supporting and training anaesthetic traineesand locally employed doctors. We have consultants with additional roles as Royal College ofAnaesthetists examiners (including lead examiner) and London School of Anaesthesia trainingprogram directors. We desire all our team to achieve their maximal potential! Our success speaksfor itself- many of our recent trainees have chosen to return as substantive consultants, most of ourlocally employed doctors and trainees have successfully achieved their FRCA exam with us, gainednational training numbers and even specialist registration via the GMCs portfolio pathway. We haverecently set up a highly sought after CESR/portfolio pathway program.This post is ideal for a junior anaesthetist and it is essential that candidates have a minimum of 6 monthsexperience in anaesthesia and have evidence of achieving their Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC)or equivalent. There will be opportunities for the successful applicant to gain further clinicalexperience, with potential to develop educational, management and quality improvement initiativesto support their own professional development. It could also provide a route to either applying for aSpecialist Training number or following an alternative path, such as the CESR/portfolio pathwayroute. Please see Attached JD
