An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join the team on the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic outpatient haemato-oncology service.
You will be an enthusiastic, innovative senior healthcare support worker where you will work in the busy, fast paced environment of the Oncology and Haematology clinics. You will have the opportunity to work alongside consultation clinics, utilising your skills to assist our patients.
For this role you will need to have achieve your care certificate and have proven care experience. You will need to have completed or working towards phlebotomy training. Further training will be provided in-house and you will have the opportunity for learning and development.

This role will be full or part time, with hours worked between the centre’s hours of: Monday – Friday 08.00 – 18.00.

• Undertake a range of identified and delegated clinical care duties relevant to clinics, including venepuncture, phlebotomy, ecg, taking blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring
• To welcome patients and visitors to the clinic / ward, ensuring they are orientated and aware of hospital routines and facilities
• To care for the patient to ensure their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are met
• To assist the wider MDT with clinical procedures, acting as a chaperone if necessary
• To communicate effectively with patients, carers, visitors and other staff members at all times, ensuring communication and care provision maintains the dignity and respect of all patients and their carers/relatives.
