Responsibilities
* The Systems/Solution Architect applies technical and professional knowledge, making independent and joint judgments based on tried and true practices and significant previous experience relating to identifying opportunities, pursuits, and customer engagement.
* Works directly with Business Development, senior leadership, and engineering teams to drive revenue opportunities.
* Responsible for collating, defining, and quantifying opportunities throughout the ITN, RFI/P/Q, and gated process, facilitating initial contract phases to inform solution architectures.
* Must have full working knowledge of Systems Engineering approach, ISO15288, responsible for proposed bid solution's architectures and engineering strategy.
* Demonstrates awareness of current and future capabilities, using cost and risk-based approaches to identify partnering options and drive decision-making.
* Leads engineering and systems discipline, representing and leading engineering opportunities aligned with processes and governance.
* Line manages reports, provides technical leadership and mentorship, and supports internal and external implementation of Systems Engineering.
* Contributes to engineering capability improvements, supporting process, tooling, and resource development.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience with architectural design and full knowledge of the SE lifecycle and development models.
* Experience in designing complex solutions, integrating systems, and using SE techniques like modeling.
* Ability to identify business development opportunities.
* Experience with integration strategies, frameworks, and tools.
* Hands-on expertise in Command & Control Defence systems, sensors, communications, encryption, and capability domains.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive approach to engineering discipline and business alignment.
* Ability to define and demonstrate technical solutions, optimizing COTS/OTS equipment.
* Willingness to travel for external engagement.
* Proven line management, technical leadership, and mentoring skills for at least 4 engineers.
