Come and join our dynamic East Cheshire Community Mental Health Teams! You will be working alongside a well-established MDT including social workers, mental health nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, and many other AHPs who will support you in delivering excellent holistic care.
CWP are seeking a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our team. The post holder will cover the Crewe and Macclesfield area (East/Central) patch.
Crewe is well known for its extensive transportation links and thriving live music scene as well as a range of amenities that make it an up-and-coming town to work in. While Macclesfield is a scenic market town with historic providence, hosting extensive transportation links and Jocelyn Solly providing extensive free on-site care parking.
While primarily responsible for supporting the management of our developing psychology offer within the East/Central CMHT's and delivering a quality clinical service, the post holder would also be supported to be actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services.

Main duties of the job
1. To lead on the delivery of specialist psychology services to clients open to Community Mental Health Services (East locality).
2. To provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy/treatment and interventions.
3. To offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to multidisciplinary colleagues and to other non-professional carers.
4. To provide training, supervision, and support to multidisciplinary colleagues.
5. To supervise assistant psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists, and qualified clinical psychologists and other psychological practitioners as agreed.
6. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team.
7. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
8. To propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the service.

Qualifications
Essential
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
* Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
* HCPC registration.
Desirable
* Formal qualification in supervision.
* BPS chartered status and/or membership of ACPUK.
Experience
Essential
* Substantial experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist.
* Experience of providing consultation, training, support and supervision/reflective practice to other professionals and non-professionals.
* Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams.
* Service development experience.
Desirable
* Involvement in local and/or national academic and/or professional body and other professional activities.
Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
* Highly specialist skills in undertaking complex psychological and cognitive/neuropsychological assessment, intervention and evaluation frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
* Well-developed skills for communicating effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical, and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Formally trained and expert in supervising Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
* Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of applied psychology and specialised psychological therapies in working with people with complex difficulties (e.g. severe MH problems, personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc).
Desirable
* Leadership training and/or awareness of different leadership models and systems thinking.
