Job Purpose
To support the testing facilities Test Services department and R&D engineers in all aspects relating to umbilical and component testing.
Job Description
1. To generate and/or review technical documents, standing instructions and safety procedures relevant to the department.
2. To develop new test procedures and oversee some aspects of the testing, participating in testing to review and improve the quality and accuracy of test data.
3. Take governance of testing procedures, review current testing procedures, and revise as required.
4. To collate, analyse testing data and generate test reports.
5. Propose investments or technical solutions to maintain and/or increase the capabilities of the R&D test facility.
6. To generate development/upgrade proposals for existing testing equipment.
7. To generate testing schematics and drawings.
8. Provide technical support in the generation of new test rig and test equipment specifications.
9. Participate in activities associated with Health, Safety, and the Environment, including incorporating adherence to Duty of Care safety policy and preparing risk assessments.
10. To demonstrate exceptional teamwork and assist others in achieving their objectives.
You are meant for this job if:
1. Engineering degree in a suitable discipline or HNC/HND with significant engineering background and experience relevant to this job role.
2. A minimum of 5 years general engineering background (essential).
3. A minimum of 5 years’ experience of hydraulic testing.
4. Experience of high-pressure testing systems (essential).
5. Experienced user of relevant software (Microsoft Suite).
6. Ability to manipulate data within Microsoft Excel.
7. Experience in the testing of umbilicals (desirable).
8. Knowledge of data acquisition systems and familiarity of electronic test equipment, including data loggers, transducers, sensors etc. (desirable).
9. 2D and 3D CAD Software Capable – AutoCAD / Inventor (desirable).
