Job Purpose
For assigned projects, senior engineers are responsible for analysing the life cycle performance of all umbilical products within assigned project scopes to relevant internal, international and client driven standards. This includes working with the lead engineer to identify and manage additional risks and engineering assessments required outside of standard practises to ensure the product is fit for purpose. Additional support shall also be given to other non-assigned projects within Post Award. The senior engineer will work closely with other disciplines such as the Structural, Drawing Office, Project Management Team, R&D, Process and others.
Job Description
• Technical responsibility over engineering deliverables for assigned projects and technical support to more junior members of the team.
• Specification review, assessment against internal standards and verification of umbilical design basis.
• Analyse the life cycle performance of umbilical products to relevant internal, international and client driven standards and rules through creation of the calculation packages specific to the umbilical type / design including verification and approval level responsibility.

• Technical responsible for delivering design reviews, internal and external clarification meetings and risk reviews both on project and during manufacturing phase with the guidance of the Lead Engineer (where required).
• Ensuring work is completed according to agreed guidelines, design rules and procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
• Contributing and leading departmental goals identified by Lead Engineers and Departmental Manager.
• Identification and management of technical risk and escalation through more Lead Engineer and Department Manager (where applicable).
• Highlighting required updates of design rules to discipline Technical Authority and ensuring deviation from standard design rules and procedure are carried out in accordance with company change control procedures.
• Ensure that department and company QHS&E objectives and targets are met implementing Design for Safety considerations.
• Leading and contributing with improvement activities and contributing to the departments Lean initiatives.
You are meant for this job if:
• Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline – preferably Mechanical Engineering, Subsea Engineering.
• Relevant experience in umbilical engineering and the wider offshore / subsea industry.
• Proficient with engineering tools such as Orcaflex.
• Experience delivering against challenging schedules in a project management environment.
• Independent working and good at working as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft office tool such as word, excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
• Experience with engineering tools such as MathCAD (or equivalent).
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor is not required but beneficial.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools such as Ansys and Abaqus.
• Experience in developing lean best practices.
