CNC Miller
£30,610 per annum or £15.91 per hour, plus overtime, Permanent, Keynsham BS31, 33 days holiday, working Monday to Friday 37 hour week, core hours 7.30 - 15.30, early finish Friday, pension, parking.
Our client is an established and highly respected manufacturer who operates a friendly team of engineers and has an opportunity to work as a CNC Miller or CNC Machinist where you will manage your own workload with jobs allocated from the engineering supervisor.
The CNC Miller role involves:
1. CNC Miller
2. Occasional Manual milling (not essential)
3. Working on Milling machines with Heidenhain controls
4. Machining precision parts and components
5. Producing one-off and small batches
6. Reading engineering drawings
7. Working to non-aerospace tolerances
8. Installing programs including keying from a drawing and downloading from databases, setting and operating as required
9. Selecting appropriate materials for each job as described in the drawings
10. Self inspecting components and reporting any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed
Requirements for the CNC Miller or CNC Machinist:
1. The successful candidate is likely to have served an engineering apprenticeship as a skilled CNC Miller or CNC Machinist. However, candidates who are time served in machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in CNC milling and machining.
2. This would be the ideal role for someone who has worked as a CNC Machinist, CNC Miller with experience of Heidenhain conversational programming; however, any of the following controls would be of interest: Siemens, Fanuc, and Mazatrol.
3. Machining from engineering drawings often proved out programs, but the ability to set, operate, and edit is a minimum requirement.
