An exciting opportunity has become available in our Cardiology Department. We are looking for 2 dynamic, enthusiastic people with a flexible approach to join our Cardiology Administration Team as Administration Assistants. The successful candidates will support the clinical and secretarial teams ensuring that our patients have a first-class service from the moment they make contact with the service. The posts will require some flexibility across the division to support service needs. The successful applicant will possess excellent audio typing skills, supported by an RSA 2 qualification or equivalent qualification or proven admin experience. Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills are essential to the posts and MUST be shown in your application. If these qualifications aren't listed in your application, you will not be shortlisted. Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will be motivated, enthusiastic and willing to work as part of a team. Experience of audio typing and/or keyboard skills are essential to the role. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively and have previous experience in a busy office environment. As part of the role, you will be dealing with telephone/email queries, scanning, postal duties, booking patients in/out of the internal system, and making any follow-up appointments as required. The posts are predominantly based at Sunderland; however, you would be expected to cover other areas over both the Sunderland and South Tyneside sites to support service needs. The posts are 37.5 hours per week and 25 hours per week working between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Job responsibilities
* To provide clerical support to the Division of Medicine under the supervision of Cardiology Secretaries.
* To be responsible for registering attendances and updating patient demographic details in the patient administration system.

* To provide typing support to the Division of Medicine under the supervision of the Cardiology Secretaries.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of audio typing.
* Experience of communicating with people at all levels both in person and in writing, by email and telephone.
* At least six months clerical experience in a busy office environment.
* Confident, persuasive and able to communicate at all levels.
* Some experience of dealing with the public.
* Previous clerical experience within NHS setting.

Qualifications
* RSA II Typing/Word Processing/or minimum 2 years proven experience.
* Educated to GCSE Level 2 (Numeracy and Literacy) standard or equivalent.
