Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join the on-site maintenance team in Cumbria. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing a range of electrical and control systems across a complex energy facility, ensuring continued reliability, performance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out Planned Maintenance (PM) as per the site's established schedules.
Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on LV and HV electrical systems, rotating equipment, and associated control systems.
Work closely with permit signatories to prepare permits, method statements, and risk assessments.
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment in hazardous areas, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant regulations.
Authorised to write and manage safety documentation for HV systems.
Support fault finding, root cause analysis, and implement repairs to minimise downtime and cost.
Contribute to continuous improvement by providing practical feedback and recommendations.
Adhere to and promote strict Health & Safety standards, including Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work procedures.
Key Requirements
UK-recognised electrical qualification: NVQ Level 2 or 3, or Electrical Apprenticeship.
Solid background in electrical maintenance within continuous process/production environments (Chemical, Power, Biomass, etc.).
Experience with:
LV/HV rotating equipment
Control systems
Hazardous area equipment maintenance
Competency in:
Fault finding
Root cause analysis
Preventative maintenance practices
Knowledge of Safe System of Work procedures (e.g., Permit to Work, RAMS).
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a safety-first mindset.
