We are seeking a proactive and technically strong finance professional to work in our team of management accountants in providing financial and operational insight that will support organisational decision making. The applicant should be able to demonstrate experience of monthly management accounts preparation, forecasting and budgeting.
As part of a team of management accountants, this role is responsible for the compilation and analysis of budgeted and actual financial reporting for allocated budget areas. This requires the individual to interpret, analyse and report on financial and performance data from a variety of sources.
The role requires regular meetings with designated budget managers to provide an overview of financial performance and a strong level of support and, where necessary, challenge to ensure financial targets are achieved.
This role is a fundamental part of the monthly management reporting cycle, as well as having been an integral part of the budget setting and monitoring, financial planning and year-end financial reporting activities.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* Experience of financial management in a higher education setting
* Demonstrable experience of preparing budgets and forecasts and subsequent performance reporting
* Ability to interpret, reconcile and explain complex financial information from a variety of sources such as Excel and report writing tools, ensuring reporting is appropriate to stakeholders.
* A commitment to continuous improvement.

The University operates an agile working policy with staff able to work 3 days a week from home, with on-site days based in Mithras House.
