If so, we could have the role for you We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced male Support Worker to join our community team to help enrich the life of Joe who lives in his own home in the Kinson. Each person we support communicates in their own unique way, whether that is using body language, sign-a-long or repetition of specific phrases. Joe chooses to communicate through hand gestures, sign and his pecs board. The role Working with Joe, routine is really important and so use of visual aids help him understand what is happening throughout the day. He really enjoys being out for drives in his car, attending one of his favourite coffee shops for sweet treats or a can of coke, or walking through the forest or along the beach. If Joe is feeling heightened he may decide to stay indoors, in which case we help him work through activity books, listen to music and calming white noise or even treating himself to a footspa. This role would suit someone who is patient and calm, yet confident with providing consistency to help give Joe the chance to really enjoy his life Hours of work Week 1 Tuesday 7am – 9pm Thursday – 7am – 9pm Friday – 7am – 3pm Week 2 Wednesday – 7am – 9pm Saturday – 3pm – 9pm Sunday – 7am – 3pm A day in the life of a Support Worker would include: Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication Why join us?
