Summary
Working under minimal supervision of the Supervisor, SKU Governance, referring only exceptional problems and issues for management review or approval, the SKU Governance Specialist operates through a call center structure and acts as a second-level resource for all Sales affiliates. Primary duties include creation and maintenance of SKUs for all approved vendors and managing the data related to vendor and SKU details. Handles entry-level to complex SKU creation activities based on the vendor and program rules for associated business segments. SKU Governance support efforts include a reactive focus on customer-specific opportunities, while a proactive focus is applied to developing resources, reports, and training for Sales and supporting teams. The SKU Governance Specialist maintains personal knowledge of vendor programs and contract procedures in order to make educated decisions that ensure SKU creation meets both vendor program and company audit compliance. The SKU Governance Specialist uses knowledge and experience to develop internal processes and documentation which limits liability to both the customer and Connection in terms of revenue loss, inability to sell vendor programs, and associated fines.
Responsibilities
Primary Job Duties
1. Creates and maintains SKUs according to internal product and program naming conventions.
2. Responds to Sales and support teams with regards to creation of SKUs as well as analysis of new vendor opportunities.
3. Audits supplied information for accuracy.
4. Responds to sales requests through call tracking tool within established Service Level, including (but not limited to): P & A, new SKUs, SKU Reporting and price lists management.
5. Tracks and submits vendor contracts until completion.
6. Problem solves and uses prior experience to identify potential issues in SKU creation to avoid issues with order processing.
7. EOL (end of life) SKU management.
8. Assists with updates to existing SKUs.
9. Assists with creation and maintenance for documents associated to SKU governance.
10. Resolves issues and provides pre and post-sales support.
11. Maintains necessary SKU and vendor related reporting information.
12. Creates and maintains necessary price lists.
13. Maintains reporting relevant to SKU creation activities.
14. Maintains updating of SKUs within the company ERP.
15. Identifies process improvements and enhancements.
16. Participates in and contributes to team goals.
17. Identifies gaps in resources and documentation around SKU creation and works with Supervisor to develop trainings and resource updates for SKU Governance Team members, as well as Sales and Sales Support.
18. Maintains Team OneNote Notebook to keep vendor and program information, along with team processes and communication notes, current.
19. Develops and maintains key vendor and Sales team relationships.
20. Increases personal knowledge of vendor programs and contract procedures.
21. Attends both internal and external trainings and webinars to identify vendor program and product changes.
22. Builds relationships with Connection Sales and Support Teams, including Business Development Managers, Purchasing, Licensing Sales Specialists, and Partner Development Specialists.
23. Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned. Identifies the need for unique business drivers and makes proposals for improved processes. Pursues strategies for enhancing the end customer experience as it pertains to SKU Governance.

Qualifications
Required competencies:
1. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills with ability to create formulas, tables and charts.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook with ability to formulate and send professional emails.
3. Advanced knowledge of CRM or ERP systems.
4. Intermediate knowledge of databases in order to audit and update information.

7. Intermediate understanding of sales or product procurement operations with ability to follow and improve processes within a vendor segment while maintaining set controls.
