Reports to: Group Financial Controller
Salary: £27-29k annually
Role Purpose:
To focus on the management of the sales ledger, ensuring prompt payment from customers while providing excellent customer service and reducing potential bad debts. To further manage customer credit limits ensuring compliance with internal & credit insurance policies. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, outgoing and self-sufficient, working well as a team and independently to build relationships both with customers and throughout the company. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Chase & collect all amounts owing on the sales ledger (telephone, e-mail & letter)
2. Review & reconcile accounts with credit balances
3. Prepare account reconciliations for all key accounts (high volume & high value accounts)
4. Process telephone card payments from customers
5. Manage referred orders from sales/customer service department daily
6. Manage credit control email box actioning customer requests & recording invoice disputes on customer accounts
7. Ensure customer credit limits align with credit bureau & credit insurance requirements including annual limit reviews
8. Identify & investigate short payments/deductions/refunds on customer payments
9. Provide customers (internal & external) with excellent customer service
10. Identify changes in customer payment patterns & escalate concerns to the Senior Credit Controller
11. Ad-hoc reporting or other sales ledger & administrative functions, including training of colleagues, as requested from time to time
12. Support colleagues within the department to ensure excellent customer service and achievement of departmental KPIs & targets
13. Ensure compliance with all Company policies & procedures
14. Actively work towards achieving departmental & individual KPIs & targets

Minimum Requirements:
1. 5 GCSEs including Maths & English (or equivalent)
2. 5 years credit control experience preferable
3. Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail & AX an advantage)
Key Performance Indicators: (SMART)
1. Overdue debt as a % of total ledger should not exceed 1.5% (60 days and older)
2. Unapplied cash & credit balance accounts reconciled monthly
3. Customer account reconciliations completed by the 15th day of each month
4. E-mail requests actioned daily including external customer e-mails
