Job Description Are you ready to join a team of talented BNG specialists and shape the future of the environment? Join our dynamic Nature team as an Associate BNG Specialist in our offices based in Nottingham, Cambridge, Manchester, Leeds, Basingstoke, and Croydon (other locations across the UK may be considered), benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model. We’re at the forefront of innovation, championing nature-based solutions. We are working on a wide range of projects in the power and renewables, infrastructure, environment, and transport sectors, collaborating with other technical disciplines such as landscape, GIS, engineering, sustainability, and drainage. Our recent projects include several of the largest solar farms in the UK, a cable tunnel below the River Thames, electricity network upgrades in Kent and Suffolk, and masterplanning of new residential developments. In this role, you will support Biodiversity Net Gain and benefits, habitat management and monitoring plans, and provide mentoring. Our environment offers internal and external training opportunities within a nurturing mentoring and coaching framework. Here’s what you’ll do: Support the BNG team lead and work closely with our Scottish BNG lead. Lead the planning and delivery of biodiversity inputs for clients. Produce and technically review biodiversity assessments. Provide technical leadership for pragmatic solutions. Engage with clients and stakeholders including planning authorities and statutory bodies. Develop our technical capabilities and encourage innovation. Lead bids and tenders for biodiversity services. Degree in ecology or an associated subject. Membership of a professional institution and working towards Chartered status. Knowledge of biodiversity legislation and policy. Experience in managing biodiversity assessments and projects. Experience in stakeholder discussions and bidding/tendering. Experience in reviewing technical work.
