Liberty Merchant Bar, Scunthorpe have permanent vacancies for experienced Electrical craftspeople to work in a small team responsible for caretaking & maintaining the Scunthorpe site in a mothballed state. Working a Mon-Fri days rota, you will be responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the whole site, facilities, buildings and associated equipment and will liaise daily with the team leader. You will be responsible for your own health and safety and those around you. Experience of maintenance within a steel environment or other heavy sectors is required and ideally should have at least 5 – 10 years post Apprenticeship experience and confidence to resolve issues and undertake repairs in various situations. It is important that you are extremely adaptable, willing to safely tackle any tasks as they arise, be a strong team player and a self - starter. You should be good communicator at all levels, IT literate and capable of working with external agencies, contractors, electrical, mechanical and management staff. The Role Expected duties & routines, but not limited to: Scheduled inspections and monitoring of the site and facilities, according to craft skill. Maintenance of equipment where necessary. Regular inspections of the site and checking of equipment, to ensure the prevention of environmental incidents. Remedial action to prevent / minimise environmental incidents. Cross functional responsibilities will entail assisting other team members to carry out the required tasks. Housekeeping duties. Cleaning personal work-space, wash facilities, toilets etc. Safely carry out DIY type activities; building repairs, grass cutting etc. Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures. Required ELECTRICAL CRAFT / TEAM MEMBER Must have experience of the following: Experience maintaining and fault finding on A.C. & D.C. Drives, Inverters, Converters & Plc’s. Confident to read and understand Electrical distribution drawings to assist in HV & LV maintenance tasks, including external and internal power supplies and lighting. Knowledge of power switching and the rules, permits and roles required. Repair & maintain building services power and lighting systems. Fire & intruder protection/ monitoring systems tests and inspections. Inspection & testing, PAT, meter readings. Will be required to respond quickly and effectively to site requirements using strong problem-solving skills while always maintaining high health and safety standards.
