We are looking for an applicant who is enthusiastic, motivated, energetic, and has the appropriate experience to join our already established team. You will be expected to provide direct care and support to adults who are autistic and have associated learning disabilities, within the Community Inclusion Day Service.
We are keen to appoint someone who has a good understanding of the needs of autistic people and can support individuals who may have behaviours of concern. An understanding of the Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) principles would be desirable.
The successful applicant will need to be able to plan, deliver, and coordinate person-centred and creative support programmes with individuals, to further enhance lives and learning. The applicant will also need to demonstrate an ability to work within sometimes complex and rapidly changing environments, work creatively and independently, as well as being able to support behaviours, taking active steps to help rectify and overcome them.
Minimum Requirements:
1. To have an appropriate NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care and/or equivalent.
2. To have achieved a good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent.
3. Have some practitioner experience in the field of Social Care working with people with Autism and Learning Disabilities.
4. Knowledge and understanding of a range of disability issues.
5. Have some understanding of the principles within Person Centred services.
6. To demonstrate an ability to exceed professional standards and act as a role model for new qualified staff.
7. Be able to work effectively within a team and be willing to continuously develop own skills and knowledge.
8. Be able to support and manage different behavioural needs. You will also be required to work a flexible working rota.
A full UK Driving License is a desirable requirement of this post.
