Role overview:
To play a key role in the overall success of our organization by planning, managing, and monitoring the engineering functions of the existing technical team. You will be responsible for overseeing all works conducted by a team of six M&E technicians and sub-contractors in order to ensure safe and successful completion. What you'll do:
As the technical expert, the Technical Team Leader will manage a diverse team of engineers supporting a site consisting of offices, laboratories and plant. You will Participate in assigned long-term preventative maintenance programs and projects and create detailed processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by
1. Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff
2. Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs
3. Oversight of the team routine operations by handling repairs and assisting management with administrative duties.
4. Develop and maintain relations with Compliance/HSE Specialist, the Programme Manager and the Client to ensure the effective operation of the site.
5. Supervise installation and initial start-up of engineering equipment.
6. Modify processes to enhance operation productivity.
7. Assign, train, develop and supervise work of engineering department.
8. Ensure all additional work requests are actioned in a timely manner to a successful conclusion, keeping all relevant parties informed.
Key duties & Responsibilities
9. To oversee the daily operations of the technical team (including sub-contractors)
10. To manage and monitor legal compliant inspections and preventative planned maintenance programmes.
11. Preparation of annual PPM and statutory compliance programme of works
12. Processing test certificates
13. Plan, schedule and monitor inspection and testing programmes
14. Support the Management Team with the mandatory compliance and statutory legislation relating to the building infrastructure
15. Carry out risk assessments for buildings, grounds and specialist areas, engaging contractors where necessary (including asbestos)
16. Working knowledge of MoC’s and an understanding of OSHA (desirable)
17. Annually review team to identify training needs and performance management
18. Any other duties as reasonably requested
Person Specification
Who you'll be:
19. Minimum of HNC/HND in Engineering or time served technical apprenticeship
20. If Electrically biased,18th Edition, C&G 2391 (or equiv) Inspection and Test. If Mechanical, FGas,
21. AHU/Ventilation experience desirable
22. Engineering experience, ideally in a supervisory role
23. Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
24. Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
25. Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
26. Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
27. Health and Safety qualification (ideally IOSH MS)
