About the Role
As the Warehouse Planning Manager for JD.com, you will play a critical role in establishing and managing the operations of our new warehouse in Luton. This is a unique opportunity to join a globally recognized leader in e-commerce and logistics as we expand our footprint in the UK. You will oversee the development and implementation of operational plans to ensure efficient warehouse operations, aligning with JD.com's standards for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Setup & Planning:
* Lead the strategic planning and execution of the warehouse setup, ensuring alignment with JD.com’s global standards and operational goals.
* Design the layout and workflow of the warehouse, optimizing for efficiency and scalability.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including logistics, IT, and facility teams, to ensure a smooth warehouse launch.
Operational Management:
* Develop and implement operational plans to meet performance targets, including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and delivery timelines.
* Monitor daily operations and address any bottlenecks to ensure seamless warehouse performance.
* Oversee workforce planning, ensuring the right staffing levels and skills to support operational needs.
Process Improvement:
* Analyze warehouse workflows and identify areas for improvement using data-driven methodologies.
* Drive the adoption of automation and advanced technologies in line with JD.com's innovation standards.
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
* Serve as the key liaison between warehouse teams and cross-functional departments such as logistics, IT, HR, and customer service.
* Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders.
Compliance & Safety:
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and JD.com policies.
* Promote a culture of safety and implement best practices to mitigate operational risks.
Qualifications & Experience
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain planning.
* Proven track record in managing large-scale warehouse operations or startups.
* Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation technologies.
