1. This role (South East, North West or Midlands based) will be responsible for providing direction, planning and oversight of EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations and Corporate standards across the North Europe CHVAC entities (UK, Ireland, Sweden and Finland). This role will span the field service & sales organization and business support functions. Our functional purpose is to support Carrier’s mission by creating business value through breakthrough and sustainable EHS solutions to protect our People, our Stakeholders, and our Environment.
2. Provide leadership in and manage all aspects of occupational health, safety, and environment for North Europe services/projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
3. Develop & implement EHS plans for North Europe that are aligned with the Commercial HVAC business unit strategic direction.
4. Collaborate with North Europe senior management and other functions to achieve optimal EHS performance.
5. Develop EHS Strategy for North Europe Service Organization & Sales organization, ensure alignment of EH&S Goals and deployment and provide guidance to operational management on the prevention of workplace incidents and illnesses.
6. Develop and deploy EHSOS Operational Controls; develop additional policies and practices appropriate to the unit; monitor development and implementation of EH&S programs within the unit; and report progress to the Country Ldr, CMC and EHS
7. Promoting and ensuring adherence to Lead with Safety Commitments and actively promote EHS as a shared responsibility rooted in the right EHS culture.
8. Coach management teams to develop a deep understanding of EHS responsibilities and the business benefits of robust EHS program.
9. Oversee EHS investigations into workplace incidents to uncover root causes, identify immediate and preventative actions and capture “lessons learned”.
10. Identify EHS resource needs during project proposal phase, based on project role, scale, hazard profile and technical complexity.
11. Manage prequalification, deployment, and safety performance of subcontractors.
12. Lead EHS training & development programs.
13. Conduct regular safety inspections/audits and close on corrective actions in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
14. Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Engineering or relevant scientific/technical area.
15. Sound work experience gained working with organizations in construction or field based.
16. Regulatory knowledge including safety, environmental and other regulatory standards applicable to building services industries and construction.
17. Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead teams, drive change and interact cross functionally.
18. Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.
