Summary
Ty Trosiad is looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join its supported housing service in Newport on a part-time (18.5), permanent basis. The purpose of the service is to deliver housing-related support to those experiencing homelessness.
Overview
This role includes lone working at times, with some shifts worked through the week and others on weekends with sleep-ins. The rota is a 5-week rolling schedule throughout the year.
The shift pattern for this contract will follow a similar structure to the example below:
1. Week 1: Thursday 12pm – 11pm (Sleep-in shifts), Friday 7am – 12pm
2. Week 2: Sunday 12-11 (Sleep-in shifts), Monday 7am – 9am, Friday 8pm – 11pm (Sleep-in shifts), Saturday 7am – 12pm
3. Week 3: Wednesday - 12-11 (Sleep-in shift), Thursday 7am – 2pm
4. Week 4: Monday 6pm – 11pm (Sleep-in shifts), Tuesday 7am – 9am, Saturday 12pm – 11pm (Sleep-in shift)
5. Week 5: Sunday 7am – 12pm, Thursday 12pm – 11pm, then Friday 7am – 9am
You will receive a full induction and training to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to work independently.

We support individuals with mental health issues, substance misuse, and a history of struggling to manage their own tenancy. Day To Day Duties
* Engaging and interacting with the people we support
* Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
* Welfare checks
* Ensuring the building is secure, including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
* Dealing with challenging behaviours
* Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have
* Supporting individuals with cleaning their rooms and maintaining the communal areas.
Our aim is to equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role, and you will encounter complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health issues, substance misuse, and anti-social behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities, so the ability to adapt your approach is essential.
